Sunday August 15th
Pre-season Friendly (U18s)
BRENTWOOD TOWN 7 HEYBRIDGE SWIFTS 2

At times Town 18s played some breathtaking, attacking football; the only downside of this display was their collective indifference when not in possession, which caused them to concede two goals. Scorers for Brentwood were Charm Dube, Ryan Smith, Shawn Farrow, David Miller, Josh Russell, Brad Cooke and Jack Gardner.
This Wednesday the boys play Southend United at The Arena Kick-off 7.30

Sunday 8th August
BRENTWOOD TOWN 2 BILLERICAY TOWN 3

Individual mistakes that led to all three goals cost Town Under 18s this match, but if the lessons are learnt then this game would have been a worthwhile exercise. Brentwoods goals came from David Miller who scored after receiving a fine pass from Jack Gardner, then the provider became scorer when he scored with a fine strike from the edge of the box.

A four goal burst in nine minutes just before half time set up Brentwood for a comfortable win against a Bishop's Stortford side.
Anthony Ryan opened the scoring in the 36th minute followed by further goals from Dee Okojie and Darren Blewitt and a second from Ryan to make it 4-0. Ross Parmenter and Joao Carlos added further goals in the second half to complete an accomplished performance from a team that is showing good potential for the Ryman League season that starts on Saturday 21 August. Before then, Harrow Borough from the Ryman Premier, visit the Arena for our last pre-season game this Saturday, 14 August.

Sunday 1st August
BRENTWOOD TOWN 7 MALDON & TIPTREE 1 (Under 18 pre-season fixture)

In a game played over four periods of 30 minutes to enable both Managers the opportunity of having a good look at their new squads, Town 18s, with many of their older players back, won comfortably with goals from skipper Robbie Rees 2, David Miller, Charm, Jaimie Bush, Ryan Smith, plus an own  goal. Overall things appear to be going in the right direction the only negative note was a late goal conceded from yet another set play.
Next Sunday’s opponents will be near neighbours Billericay Town, kick off at 11.00 at The Brentwood Centre.
Brentwood Town Under 18s beat Waltham Abbey 5-3 at the Brentwood Centre on Sunday 25 July in their first pre-season friendly of the season. The goals came from Jack Gardner 2, Shaun Farrow, Adam Johnson and David Miller.
The boys next fixture was on Tuesday 27 July against adult opposition in the shape of Essex Olympian Premier League side Frenford. The 18s gave a superb performance coming within seconds of beating one of the best teams in the Olympian League; Town goalscorers were Jaimie Bush and Adam Johnson in the 2-2 draw. 18s Manager Howard Mackler decided to rest many of his squad for the next fixture against Maldon & Tiptree on Thursday 29 July. Brentwood played most of this game with five U16 players, who all adapted well to their new surroundings, putting in a superb performance against a side that had many second years 18s in their squad. If it was not for the individual errors which accounted for all the Maldon goals Town could have won this game.
The result was 4-3 to Maldon. Scorers on the night for Brentwood were Billy Whitcomb, Brad Cooke and Shane Tyler; all three goals were top draw finishes. Without doubt the man of the match for Town was U16 Henry Russell who will push himself into the frame for further U18 appearances if he continues to play to this standard on return to the U16s.
