Overview
Brentwood again failed to hold on to a lead as Romford came from behind to secure three valuable points with a winning goal two minutes from time at Thurrock FC.
In the first half, Brentwood could have taken the lead through Andy Freeman or Matt Price before Alfie Hilton made it 1-0 in the 36th minute, converting at the far post from Freeman’s low cross.
And Hilton could have scored again three minutes into the second half from another Freeman assist but the Boro equalised with a fine strike from Jay Knight in the 53rd minute. Almost immediately Freeman restored Brentwood’s lead, cleverly cutting inside and shooting home with his right foot.
Romford’s three substitutes all had a big influence with Connor Hammond firing in heir second equaliser in the 74th minute, and their other two subs combined
