Overview
Luke Foster's 84th minute goal from a free kick earned Brentwood Town a deserved draw against league newcomers Coggeshall Town. Foster’s fine left foot strike cancelled out a similar effort from Coggeshall’s Aaron Condon in the 70th minute.
Kojo Apenteng had a shot on target in the 2nd minute, forcing visitors’ keeper James Bransgrove to save with his feet, but Coggeshall looked a threat Jamie Shaw heading wide from a good position on the tenth minute.
Robb Budd was the busier keeper for a while, but Blues grew into the game and Ayrton Coley headed over the bar from Alfie Hilton’s chipped cross in the 21st minute.
Tony Stokes put Apenteng through in the 31st minute but Bransgrove came out to thwart the forward.
Blues started the second half strongly with Coley forcing Bransgrove into a good save right from the start. From the resulting corner, Brentwood tried to force the ball home and Coggeshall were saved by a clearance of the line by Dexter Peter.
