A WORD FROM THE CHAIRMAN BE PART OF OUR JOURNEY The success of Brentwood Town FC requires so much more than investing money into the club, buying the best players and winning football matches...

The strategy needed for long-term success, on and off the pitch, needs a clear vision and an understanding of what is required in infrastructure, personnel and club culture to reach our goals. I want to inject more passion, more excitement and more determination across the club to kick-start this incredible journey. Last season I took the opportunity to assess and evaluate what is needed to move forwards – the official journey starts now – the 2022/23 season and beyond is where you’ll see dramatic changes at Brentwood Town FC. The Vision… The vision and objectives for the club are clear and achievable. The 3-year plan is to obtain 2 promotions, taking us to the National South Football League. The culture needed to achieve this is a oneclub mentality, where the whole club pulls together to deliver a common goal with zero conflict of interest. The club will be run like a National South League club from this point forward, preparing all involved for success and promotion. The quality, professionalism and desire throughout the club will be achieved by hard work, unity and relentless passion to strive to be better. The Beginning… Success must start on the pitch! That’s why we’ve made significant investment in obtaining players that have played at a higher level, that have experienced success and that fit the club’s overall culture and values. Like all the best teams, they are not made up of all the best players, they are made up of very good players that play well together to make the best team. Having players that want to play for Brentwood and not players that get paid to play for Brentwood is essential. Our players must be our biggest fans! Grassroots and beyond… Our Youth Pathway and Development is also key. An Under 23s Development Squad has been assembled to complement the First Team with progression into the First Team as the main objective. The Under 18s Squad, which is also brimming with young talent, are all keen to represent their club in the future too. Winning teams always comprise the right balance of experience and youth. Knowing that the club is built on strong foundations, with talented youths paving their way to first team success, is vital to our continued and sustainable success. During the 2022/23 season a new Brentwood Town Football Academy will be assembled that not only benefits the players’ football development, but also enhances their character and personality. Be part of our journey… The club will represent the Brentwood community, spreading the feel-good factor that is infectious when a town has a successful team that they can be proud of. Brentwood Town FC will be more than a football club, it will be a positive gateway for the whole of the Brentwood community and beyond. ROD STRINGER MEET THE MANAGER Since joining the club in October 2021 I have been impressed with the enthusiasm and professionalism of all involved, from our Chairman, board, commercial department and players. This gives me confidence to achieve my goal in starting the journey through the nonleague pyramid. The squad is made up of a number of players who have progressed from our successful and well-respected youth system. It is important to keep and progress this local representation where possible to keep the roots within the Borough and club. It has been a good start as far as results are concerned, and my aim is to deliver to the fans exciting football to watch and an all-round enjoyable match day experience. The potential for growth as a club and fanbase is massive and I want to be part of that now and in the future. I have experience in gaining promotion from our current level and above, and know how much hard work is needed. However, I am confident that exciting times are ahead for Brentwood Town FC and we can give the local community something to be proud of. THE HISTORY OF BRENTWOOD TOWN FC CLUB HISTORY The original Brentwood Town FC dates back to the 19th century! The club saw great success in those early days, reaching the quarterfinals of the FA Cup in 1886. Sadly, they were beaten 3-1 by Blackburn Rovers, but it was a great accolade to have made it that far. In the 1950s and 1960s the club operated as Brentwood & Warley FC and were 3 times winners of the Delphian League. In 1965 the club turned ‘professional’ becoming Brentwood Town FC once more. The 60s and 70s saw great success for the club as they rapidly rose to the heights of non-league football. Brentwood Town became a force to be reckoned with in the Southern League Premier Division, reaching the third round proper in the 1969/70 season. Following their successful run the club subsequently folded and amalgamated with Chelmsford City. BRENTWOOD TOWN FOOTBALL CLUB 8

The current club was founded in 1954 as Manor Athletic playing from St George’s Playing Fields in Hartswood. The years that followed saw many club names, locations and leagues with plenty of highs and lows. With help from the local council, Brentwood finally found a home of their own at The Brentwood Centre, where they played their first match in October 1993. In 2004 the Essex County FA officially gave the club permission to change its name and re-adopt the title of Brentwood Town FC – a proud moment for all involved! More recent successes include winning the Essex Senior League title for the first time in the 2000/01 season and again reaching the finals of the league in the 2006/07 season, but on this occasion losing 2-0 to Hornchurch. Under the management of Steve Witherspoon and Amin Levitt during the 2007/08 season, the team performed well in the FA Cup and FA Trophy, closely missing out on a play-off place. The 2014/15 season saw more impressive victories, thanks to 10 players who had progressed through the youth pathway, leading the team to the Ryman North playoffs and achieving promotion to the Isthmian Premier League for the first time. This was the highest league status ever reached by the club. The biggest name in football to have played for the club has to be the great Jimmy Greaves! Jimmy signed for Brentwood in December 1975, aged 34. You could be sure that whenever Jimmy was part of the team, you could add hundreds of additional spectators to the normal gate numbers. Thanks to the guidance and investment from the current Chairman, Jez Dickinson, the club’s latest achievement was being awarded a Charter Standard recognition from the FA – this marks the start of the club’s exciting journey progressing up the football pyramid. The hope is that under manager Rod Stringer’s guidance, Brentwood Town FC can play at the level the club deserves and we’re sure that the 2022/23 season will be the most exciting yet! MOVING THE CLUB FORWARDS FUTURE PLANS As the 2022/23 season kicks off, the club is brimming with excitement about imminent and future plans. A clear strategy has been set to lead the club to bigger and better things, offering improvements for the players, supporters, sponsors and the local community. A 4G pitch within The Arena is planned for the 2022/23 season, elevating the club to a whole new level and enabling us to reap all the benefits that all-weather pitches bring! This offers incredible opportunities for businesses or individuals who want to support the club through commercial sponsorship or investment and enjoy the new BTFC all-weather facilities. The club is working alongside Brentwood Borough Council who are investigating ways to implement a full and allencompassing Football Hub for Brentwood. Brentwood Town FC supports the Council’s plans and will offer assistance where possible throughout the project. Current plans include 2 further 4G pitches to service the whole community. A new stadium is also being considered, but a project of that size will take substantial planning, costing and investment. It is within reach and something that everyone at the club is working towards. We have already refurbished and modernised some of the facilities at the club, with continuing improvements scheduled throughout the 2022/23 season. We want you to be part of our journey and enjoy a front row seat to the transformation of Brentwood Town FC. With so many ways to be involved, support the club and benefit your business, we’re sure you’ll see our vision through your own eyes and be eager to join the Brentwood Town FC family. 10 BRENTWOOD TOWN FOOTBALL CLUB

THE LIFEBLOOD OF THE CLUB OUR SUPPORTERS 14 BRENTWOOD TOWN FOOTBALL CLUB

We’d like to give thanks to our supporters, who continue to be the lifeblood of the club. Always setting an excellent example of how football should be enjoyed, we’re proud to take our fans to each and every away game, knowing their encouragement means the world to our players. Even through the difficult times of COVID-19, when being in the stands wasn’t an option, we have felt the support of BTFC followers in other ways. The start of the 2022/23 season has seen spectators returning to the ground, within the current safety guidelines, and the atmosphere has been fantastic. The positivity and excitement of the fans can be felt around the whole stadium. We hope that the 2022/23 season will see added benefits for our supporters thanks to the investment being made in the club. Facilities will continue to be improved and we hope to launch a supporters’ club, forging stronger connections with those who continue to cheer us on. 15 COMME RC I A L B ROCHU R E 2 0 2 2 / 2 3
