Brentwood Town are extremely excited to announce the signing of centre back Rob Swaine.
Rob comes to Brentwood having played for National League South club Welling United last season. Having started his career at Thurrock, Rob has subsequently played and captained the likes of Billericay, Bromley, Chelmsford City, Maidstone and Welling over the last few seasons while also acquiring numerous promotions noticeably at Billericay and Bromley.
Manager Adam Flanagan said: “It’s a massive statement of intent by this football club to sign a player of Rob's calibre and a testament to the direction the club is now headed in under our chairman.”
Rob commented: “I saw the statement that Jez put out in the local paper recently about his exciting vision for the future of the football club and it prompted me to get in touch with Adam. I was impressed further with Jez and Adam when I met to discuss the possibility of coming to the club. We met for a second time and we were able to settle on an agreement. I am really looking forward to coming in and hopefully being a catalyst in helping the club achieve its goals. I have travelled for my football in recent seasons and with my growing personal training business and other business interests requiring more of my time I feel I need to be playing more local once again. I work in Brentwood so it is the natural choice for me and now with the ambition being shown by the club I hope we can both equally have success together.”
