Blues announce players retained from last season's squad

Brentwood Town are pleased to announce that a number of last season’s squad have signed forms for the club for the new season.

Having come through our youth system, CONNOR HOGAN subsequently played for the likes of East Thurrock, Brightlingsea, Aveley and Hornchurch before re-joining the club early last season.
Connor was in excellent form until his season was curtailed by a knee injury picked up against Romford. Subsequently he has worked hard in the close season to regain full fitness and is fit and raring to go.

All-action midfielder ROBBIE REES has committed to play for the club again this season. Robbie originally came through our youth system and was a key member of our play-off winning team, scoring in the 5-0 victory over Thurrock in the final. Subsequently he played in the Isthmian North championship winning Brightlingsea Regent team, before leaving them to join Aveley. After eighteen months out the game to establish his own health food business he returned to the club in January.

Great news is that long-serving ANDY FREEMAN will remain at the club. The ex-youth team product and member of our promotion winning team has been a constant at the club for many seasons, other than short spells away at Concord Rangers and Aveley. Andy’s ability to be able to play in various roles may prove a valuable resource over the coming months.

Goalkeeper OLLIE BOWLES, who will always be remembered for his heroics in the league play-off semi-final penalty shoot-out, has re-joined the club. After leaving the Blues in 2015 Ollie subsequently went on to play for AFC Sudbury, Brightlingsea Regent and Thamesmead Town.

Midfield player JACK DICKINSON, who graduated through our youth system to play for the first team, has signed forms committing him to a further season at the club.

JOE WICKS who joined us last season after spells at Millwall, Maldon & Tiptree and Witham Town has agreed to stay with the club for the forthcoming season.

JAY BACON is a young left back who joined us at the latter part of last season from Romford and has agreed to sign again for this term. Jay’s accomplished displays in the short time he has been with the club caught the eye of the Town faithful.
