Brentwood Town are back on the road this weekend, taking on Hashtag United in yet another must win clash. Keith Rowland’s men are still sat in the playoff spots, having won three on the bounce, and the Blues will look to continue their strong form in this match.
The Blues
Brentwood were at home in their last time out, hosting Lewes at the Arena. They ran out 2-1 winners to remain in third place, and collect their fifth win in six games.
Bradley Sach opened the scoring in the 33rd minute, only for Devonte West equalised just seven minutes later. However, Sach managed to bag the second Blues goal from the spot in the second half to secure a big three points.
This result sees Brentwood still four points behind Aveley in second, and four points ahead of both Chatham and Billericay. They have a seven point gap to 6th placed Dartford, and will want to keep them that far behind with a win at Parkside.
The Tags
Hashtag hover just above the relegation zone, currently safe by one point. The Tags have accumulated 32 points, equal with Carshalton Athletic, but Cray Valley (PM), who sit one place behind have one point fewer.
Hashtag lost 3-0 to playoff chasing Chatham Town in their last match, with three second half goals. Junior Dixon, Reece Butler and Sam Sene-Richardson scored for the Chats, with no reply from the Tags.
Hashtag of course have amongst their ranks former Brentwood players Sam Park and Romel Aarons Royal, but one to watch is certainly Evans Kouassi who has scored thirteen goals for the Tags this season, and will look to bag again in this one to push his side further away from the relegation zone.
Final Word
With only a handful of games left, both teams have everything to play for at either end of the table. The Blues will want to continue their playoff push, with the Tags looking to distance themselves from the drop.
