Brentwood Town are back at the Arena this weekend looking to pick up another vital three points in their play-off hunt. They welcome 15th placed Lewes, who have recently been struggling for form, and come to Essex looking for a response.
The Blues
Brentwood come into this game with two wins in as many matches matches, their last win coming away in North London, 2-1 against Wingate & Finchley.
Wingate went ahead 13 minutes in through Loic Hernandez, but just twelve minutes later, the Blues had a 2-1 lead, Louie Johnson finding the equaliser, before Bradley Sach scored his second goal for the Club just a minute later to secure the win.
The Blues currently have a four point gap to Chatham Town and Billericay Town, who occupy the two play-off spots beneath Brentwood. Dartford are seven points behind with a game in hand, so if Keith Rowland’s side can keep picking up points, especially at home, they have a strong chance of a play-off finish.
The Rooks
Lewes have recently dropped down to 15th, picking up only one point in their last six matches. They played Billericay midweek and were beaten comfortably, 3-0.
Alfie Cerulli bagged a brace in just 21 minutes, with Frankie Merrifield scoring the other goal before half-time. It now means that the Rooks have only scored two goals in their last seven matches, having struggled to find the net in the second half of the season.
Despite that, Devonte West is one to watch, with five goals for Lewes so far this season. His last goal came just five games ago, and he will be an important player for the Rooks if they want to get anything out of this game.
Final Word
It’s now the business end of the season, and Keith Rowland’s side sit on the brink of a play-off finish, and a win here is vital for them to reach that aim. Lewes, however, will be looking for the upset here to ensure they are not dragged into a relegation battle.
