Brentwood Town Football Club are delighted to announce the appointment of Brett Munyard as our new First-Team Manager.
Brett joins the Blues from Essex neighbours Aveley, where he enjoyed a strong 2025/26 campaign.
Brett took charge of Aveley ahead of the 2025/26 season, succeeding Danny Scopes following the Millers’ two-year stay in the National League South.
Following their relegation at the end of the 2024/25 season, Brett inherited a squad that required a complete rebuild, and despite the challenge of building an entirely new squad, Brett put together a highly competitive side that performed strongly throughout the 2025/26 campaign, ultimately guiding the Millers to a second-place finish in the Isthmian League Premier Division.
Those who watched our three meetings with Aveley last season will have seen first-hand just how competitive Brett’s side were, and how hard his squad worked against the Blues across each encounter.
The appointment sees Brett bring a wealth of managerial experience to The Arena. Brett began his managerial career with White Ensign, where he guided the club to two promotions during his time in charge.
He moved to Brightlingsea Regent in 2021. With Regent in 19th place, and having lost eight consecutive games, Brett managed to steer them to survival in the Isthmian Premier League that season. Brett then moved to Maldon & Tiptree in 2024, where he led the Jammers to a nine-game unbeaten run.

I spoke with Brett the morning after Keith’s departure, and it was abundantly clear that we were totally aligned. We both knew it was right the moment we spoke which is very powerful in itself.
Brentwood Town’s ambition to gain promotion to the National League South and then beyond is unrelenting, and I have full confidence in Brett to deliver”

Brett will officially take charge of the First Team following Saturday’s Emirates FA Cup Second Qualifying Round tie away at Aveley.
Interim Manager Alex Akrofi will lead the side at Parkside on Saturday, as the Blues look to progress to the Third Qualifying Round.
