AFC SUDBURY 1 – 0 BRENTWOOD TOWN

Brentwood fell to their second single-goal defeat in the space of five days. On Tuesday Heybridge Swifts netted in the 84th minute to end Town’s recent unbeaten run and it was another 84th minute goal that saw them beaten in Suffolk on Saturday.

The home side had the better chances in the first half at Sudbury with Kyle Cassell and Liam Bennett both missing the target from good positions and Brentwood goalkeeper Tim Brown tipped a shot from Billy Holland over the bar ten minutes before half time.

Brentwood then had opportunities to score in the second half with Sudbury keeper Paul Walker twice saving from Rene Batlokwa and Andy Freeman seeing his shot deflected onto a post.

But Sudbury earned the points through tom Maycock’s close range finish six minutes from time.

Brentwood Town: Brown, Milner, Pugsley, Freeman, Kemsley, Edwards, Rees (Furlonge 80), Anderson (Pianim 58), Babalola, Hogan (Wiggins 65), Batlokwa.
