FA CUP 1st QUALIFYING ROUND
NEW SALAMIS 1 – 2 BRENTWOOD TOWN

Once again Sam Bantick came up with a winner in the FA Cup as Blues reached the 2nd Qualifying Round against Spartan League New Salamis at Haringey Borough FC.

It was a classic cup tie marred only by some red cards right at the end of the match with Bantick receiving a second yellow. Blues Jay Bacon was also sent off as was former Blues player Luke Foster for Salamis.

Kudus Oyenuga put Brentwood ahead in the 20th minute but Denis Mehmet equalised for the home side with a fine finish on the stroke half time.

New Salamis played some excellent passing football and the game could have gone either way but it was Bantick who clinched the tie for Blues with a deft finish 79th minte.

Brentwood Town: Edwards, Hogan, Bacon, Love (wicks 90), Gould, Heath, Bantick, Freeman, Harvey, Oyenuga (Dickinson 72), Rees.
