By Michaela Georgopoulos

Battling Brentwood hold Witham Town to a draw.

Bentwood extended their unbeaten run to 3 games after holding the visitors to a goalless draw on Bank Holiday Monday.

The game was opened by a head collision for The Blues’ Daniel Ogunleye, who was able to play the remainder of the game after seeking medical assistance.

The visitors were dominant in their attack which forced The Blues to put on a strong, defensive display and an array of shots to be pushed over the crossbar by Melvin Minter.

On the stroke of half time The Blues looked to break the deadlock when a threatening corner from Shad Ngandu was headed narrowly wide of the goal by Romél Aarons Royal.

Witham were reduced to 10 men as the second half commenced with Kamani McFarlane seeing a red.

Brentwood continued their attack and were almost able to take the lead. A striking shot by Wyan Reid in the 65th minute was put just wide of the right goalpost before another far range attempt by Jon Nzengo was hit inches over the crossbar.

The Blues are back in action for Friday Night Football as they welcome Grays Athletic down to The Arena for a 19:45 kick off.
