Club News | 2 Dec 2024

Brentwood Town are excited to announce the signing of Taylor Curran from step 3 side Cheshunt.

Curran began his career in the youth ranks of the Southend United academy and signed a two-year contract, before embarking on a month-long loan spell with National League side Braintree Town.

In 2019, Curran moved to Swindon Town where he made 25 club appearances and produced one goal. Curran was also a part of the 2019-20 squad that were crowned League 2 champions.

After departing from Swindon Town, Curran signed for Maidstone United. During his time at the club, Curran scored one goal in five appearances and was a part of the squad that won the National League South title during the 2021-22 season.

He also embarked on loan spells with Haringey Borough and Welling United respectively, before signing a permanent deal with The Wings, where he made 20 club appearances.

Most recently, he featured in the Fleetwood United squad that won 20 of their 26 games and were promoted to the UAE First Division with a game to spare. Curran signs from Cheshunt where he made 13 appearances and produced two goals in all competitions.

The defender made his Brentwood Town debut in our historic FA Trophy victory away to Hereford, keeping a clean sheet on his first appearance in a blue shirt.

When asked on signing for The Blues, Curran said, “The club has great ambition. The style of football is attractive, striving to win (the league) and looking to go in one direction.”

“My biggest strengths are my defending and passing. My playing style is wanting to play but most importantly win games,” he added.

We can expect a highly motivated defender who is “going to give 110% to the club” and strives to win. Brentwood Town look forward to watching Taylor Curran in action for The Blues throughout the remainder of the 2024/25 season.
