PLAY OFF INSIDER

After securing a 2-1 victory on Saturday over the league champions, Lowestoft Town, Brentwood Town are looking to extend their winning run into the play offs and edge one step closer towards promotion.

The promotion journey begins in approximately 48 hours which will see The Blues travel 75 miles up to second place Bury Town in a bid to gain their first victory over the home side this season and secure a place in the play-off final.

Ahead of the exciting evening, we caught up with Shad Ngandu and Connor Hogan to find out their thoughts on the upcoming play off tie.

Shad, along with Alex Akrofi, James Love and Andrew Freeman, was a part of the squad that secured promotion in 2015. When asked on how it would feel to replicate the promotion success almost a decade later, Shad describe it as a “movie” and believes that it will “more importantly show how amazing the club is”.

“There’s a high level of talent running through the entire squad and we believe in ourselves. But nothing is guaranteed in football and every single team in the play-offs are tough opponents”, Shad added.

Having gone through the club’s academy, Connor has also been involved in several Brentwood play offs and knows that “we need to focus on the semi-final and give our best performance to date”.

“All of the teams have different playing styles which makes the games exciting and the whole squad is looking forward to it. The club has excelled over the last few years and this is the only way we can repay everyone involved that has supported us every step of the way”.

With multiple championships and promotions under the belts of several members in the first-team, The Blues have recorded their third highest points tally since 2012! Their ambitions continue and a play-off match awaits this Tuesday at 19:45, please come on down and show support for The Blues.
