Brentwood Town are excited to announce the arrival of Charlee Hughes from fellow Isthmian Premier outfit Aveley.
Charlee began his career under the academy of Leyton Orient. In 2018, he joined The Blues and went on to make 33 appearances. During his former spell at the club Charlee secured two hat-tricks in the space of three matches, with the second of those contributing to the largest win of the 2018/19 season with a 6-0 win away to Mildenhall Town.
Having ended the season on 20 goals, he received the award for the league’s top goal scorer before gaining the award for a second time with Maldon and Tiptree the following season. He totalled 30 goals in 45 appearances for the Jammers before signing for National League outfit Wealdstone.
Most recently, Charlee joined Aveley in the summer of 2023 and found the net 14 times in 48 appearances. This includes his hat-trick against his former club Hemel Hempstead Town in the Millers’ 4-3 league victory.
When asked on signing for The Blues, Charlee said, “The club is moving in the right direction to become a very successful team, especially after a fantastic season last year. It’s a club that truly deserves to be in this league.
“I know this club well, having grown up doing football camps on the pitch as a kid and enjoying a very successful spell here back in 2018. Keith and Scouse have built a very strong team that fits the way I like to play, and the fans can expect hard work with plenty of goals.”
Brentwood Town look forward to welcoming Charlee on his return to The Arena for the 2025/26 season.
