Brentwood staged a second half comeback to earn a deserved point against promotion chasers Lowestoft at the Arena on Tuesday night.

Blues fell behind in just the eighth minute when Jake Reed netted following a long throw but they could have equalised within five minutes when Andy Freeman’s effort cleared the bar after Jack Adlington’s corner kick.

It was 2-0 to the visitors after twenty minutes through Sam Johnson and a save by Blues goalkeeper Melvin Minter kept out Reed’s shot just before half time.

Brentwood enjoyed a much better second half and were back in the game when Bryan Ifeanyi scored in the 51st minute. Ross Wall and Adlington went close to equalising with Luke Holt much the busier keeper. Blues got their reward five minutes from time when skipper Matt Cripps headed in from close range for his third goal in the last six matches.

Brentwood Town: 13 Melvin Minter, 2 James Folkes, 3 Andrew Freeman, 4 Rob Clark (George Craddock 72'), 5 Matt Cripps, 6 Jack Humphrey, 7 Jack Adlington, 8 Connor Hogan (Junior Velasquez 85'), 9 Ross Wall, 10 Jack Dickinson (Flavio Jumo 72'), 11 Bryan Ifeanyi.
