BRENTWOD TOWN 0 – 1 AFC SUDBURY

Joe Grimwood’s goal for Sudbury two minutes before half time proved enough to earn the points in a closely fought match mostly dominated by two strong defences.

Jack Dickinson went closest to a goal for the home side after a fine move in the 22nd. Dickinson surged into the Sudbury half and found Andy Freeman on the left and Dickinson continued his run and got his head to Freeman’s cross, but the effort flashed just wide of the post.

Grimwood put the visitors ahead in the 43rd minute, heading home from a Reece Harris free kick.

In the second half, Tom Richardson’s 51st minute header from James Love’s cross was just off target and five minutes later Matt Cripps’ went close with another header, this time from Rob Harvey’s free kick.

At the other end Harris hit the post in the 63rd minute but there were few good chances for either team.
