John Witham joined Brentwood Town ahead of the 2025/26 season as First Team Goalkeeping Coach, further strengthening the club’s backroom staff. Well regarded within the non-league game, John has previously worked alongside manager Keith Rowland at Aveley and brings both expertise and experience to The Arena. His knowledge of goalkeeping and attention to detail make him an excellent addition to the coaching team.
At Brentwood, John works closely with the club’s keepers, including established number one Melvin Minter. His training sessions focus not only on the technical aspects of goalkeeping, such as handling, positioning, and distribution, but also on improving decision-making and confidence. Already, his influence has been noted in Melvin’s performances, with John’s input helping refine areas of his game and providing valuable support behind the scenes.
With a calm, positive approach, John ensures the goalkeepers are well prepared for the demands of matchdays while also pushing them to develop further. His arrival has been warmly welcomed and he is expected to play an important part in Brentwood’s continued progress.
