Brentwood Town are back on home turf this Saturday as the Blues look to get those all-important three points against Enfield Town.

It’s the first meeting between the two sides in more than 10 years, so it’s shaping up to be an intriguing contest at The Arena!

Match Preview

After back-to-back defeats on the road, Brentwood Town are finally back on home soil, welcoming an Enfield Town side that have lost just once in their opening three matches.

Enfield are the second side Brentwood have faced this season to have played National League South football last campaign, with the Towners returning to Step 3 after finishing second-bottom of the division. It promises to be another tough test for Keith Rowland’s men.

The Blues

Brentwood have had a challenging start to the 2026/27 season, with their opening three fixtures coming against a relegated Step 2 side and two teams who finished towards the top end of last season’s table – Dartford and Burgess Hill Town, who finished just two places behind the Blues in 2025/26.

Last time out, Brentwood travelled to Priory Lane to face Eastbourne Borough and were beaten 3-2.

Kai Corbett opened the scoring for the hosts in the 35th minute, but Bradley Sach levelled three minutes after the interval.

Corbett then completed his hat-trick with goals in the 58th and 83rd minutes, the latter coming from the penalty spot. Freddie Sears scored his first goal in Brentwood colours with three minutes of normal time remaining, but the Blues were unable to find a late equaliser.

Despite the difficult start, the Blues will have home advantage behind them, they will be hoping Saturday can provide the perfect opportunity to get back to winning ways and kick-start their campaign.

The Towners

Enfield Town were promoted from the Isthmian Premier Division in 2023/24 after beating Chatham Town 3-0 in the play-off final.

They enjoyed two seasons in National League South before returning to Step 3 this summer with a new-look squad, and will be aiming to challenge at the top end of the table and secure an immediate return.

Among their summer additions are Junior Moses, Amrit Bansal-McNulty, George Nunn, Sonny Hart, Dylan Thompson, Shiloh Remy, Ayo Tanimowo, Jesse Akubuine, Thomas Avgoustidis, Luke May-Parrott, Declan Rydings, Edwin Mensah, Finlay Corrigan, Nana Kyei and Luke Deslandes.

The Towners come into Saturday’s fixture on the back of a 3-2 home victory over Ramsgate.

Ramsgate took the lead after 10 minutes, but Enfield responded through Franklin Domi in the 23rd minute. Domi then added his second 13 minutes later before Benedict Bioletti brought Ramsgate level.

New signing Thomas Avgoustidis ultimately proved to be the match-winner, finding the net in the 63rd minute to secure all three points for the hosts.

It has been a promising start for Enfield, who have lost just once so far — a 93rd-minute defeat against St Albans City. The Towners had been reduced to nine men by half-time on that occasion, making their performance even more impressive.

They will provide another very tough test for the Blues.

Final Word

Brentwood will be determined to put their difficult start behind them and will have plenty of motivation to get their first home league win of the season.

Enfield, however, will arrive at The Arena full of confidence and possessing plenty of quality, with their sights set on challenging for promotion at the first attempt.

It should make for a fascinating first meeting between the two clubs in more than a decade.
