Brentwood Town can confirm that forward Danny Ogunleye will be leaving the club following the conclusion of the 2025/26 season.
Danny, 24, joined the Blues in 2020 as a promising youngster from Forest Green Rovers. Despite short spells with Coggeshall Town and Herne Bay during his early years with the club, Danny quickly established himself as a mainstay at The Arena, consistently delivering important goals and performances in Sky Blue.
It was during the 2024/25 season where everything truly clicked for Danny. After that unforgettable wondergoal against Bury Town in the Isthmian League North Play-Off Semi-Final the previous campaign, Danny went from strength to strength — going on to score a remarkable 43 goals in all competitions as his goals helped guide us to the Isthmian League North title.
Among those strikes were two hugely important goals against Felixstowe & Walton in a dramatic 3-2 victory which sent us to the top of the table — a position we never relinquished.
Unsurprisingly, speculation around Danny’s future followed during the summer of 2025, but Danny remained loyal to the Blues and agreed terms to stay with us ahead of our return to the Isthmian League Premier Division for the first time in nine years.
It didn’t take him long to make his mark at Step 3 level either, scoring a brace away to Potters Bar Town in August 2025 in a thrilling 4-3 victory on the road.
Danny would go on to score 22 goals during the 2025/26 campaign and has, quite rightly, attracted significant interest higher up the football pyramid. We are incredibly proud that Danny has earned the opportunity to play National League South football next season.
In total, Danny made 198 appearances for Brentwood Town — agonisingly close to that magic 200 mark — while scoring 86 goals. Remarkably, 65 of those goals came across the last two seasons alone.
Danny came to us as a boy and leaves as a man, and everybody associated with Brentwood Town looks forward to watching his progress at a higher level, where we are sure he will continue to score goals and cause defenders nightmares.
Everyone at The Arena wishes Danny nothing but success and happiness for the future, and he will always be welcome back at Brentwood Town.
Best of luck, Danny. Go smash it!
