Brentwood Town are delighted to announce the return of midfielder Charlie Edwards, who rejoins the Blues from fellow Isthmian League Premier Division side St Albans City.
The central midfielder initially joined Brentwood ahead of the 2025/26 season from Cray Wanderers, having been a regular in their side throughout the previous campaign.
Charlie quickly established himself as an important member of the Brentwood squad during his first season at The Arena, making 47 appearances in all competitions and scoring four goals as the Blues enjoyed a memorable campaign – reaching the Isthmian League Play-off Final.
After departing Brentwood over the summer to join St Albans City, the midfielder now returns to The Arena as Brett Munyard continues to strengthen his squad ahead of his first game in charge on Tuesday night.
Edwards brings plenty of experience to the Brentwood midfield, having also represented Canvey Island, Hertford Town, Waltham Abbey, Wingate & Finchley and Potters Bar Town during his career.
After his return was confirmed, Charlie said:
“We went so close last season, and the fans were with us every step of the way – I want to get them back singing again. The chairman’s ambition for this club is clear to see, and I want to be part of where this is heading. I’m delighted to be back.”
With his energy, vision and experience, Charlie adds further depth and quality to the Blues’ midfield options – and will be a familiar face back in the dressing room.
