Tevan Allen’s first half goal proved decisive and ended Brentwood’s six-match winning run.

The home side had the better of the early chances with Blues keeper Louis Chadwick saving well from Jack Ainsley’s shot and Ollie Sotoyinbo failing to convert with a close-range header from Allen’s cross.

Allen put the home side ahead in the 17th minute cutting in from right wing and finding the far corner with a left foot shot.

Brentwood were unlucky not to equalise four minutes before half time when Andy Freeman put Tom Richardson clear and his shot beat home goalkeeper James Bradbrook only hit the inside of a post before being cleared.

Early in the second half, Flavio Jumo saw his shot saved by Bradbrook and the keeper then saved again when George Craddock’s pass got Richardson through once more.
