At the seventh attempt, Brentwood recorded their first league win of the season.

Andy Freeman put the Blues ahead in the sixth minute finishing well from Tom Anderson’s through ball.

Sean Marks shot wide of the far post for Sudbury from Tom Maycock’s cross before Maycock got behind the Brentwood defence to equalise for the visitors in the 18th minute.

Blues had a number of shots outside the area but could not find the target but they did put Paul Walker under great pressure following aa corner on the half hour mark with keeper clawing the ball to safety.

another good move by Brentwood saw Freeman and Jason Williams set up Connor Hogan who shot wide in the 39th minute, but when Freeman was fouled in the area, centre back Zak Pianim stepped up to restore the home side’s lead from the penalty spot two minutes before half time.

Brentwood secured the points in the 77th minute with another penalty kick, this time converted by Jason Williams after he had been brought down by keeper Walker.
