FELIXSTOWE & WALTON UNITED 1 – 0 BRENTWOOD TOWN

A last-minute penalty saw Brentwood denied a point in Suffolk on Tuesday night.

Brentwood suffered a blow after 20 minutes when goalkeeper Ollie Bowles had to be replaced after suffering an injury a few minutes earlier. Fortunately, there was Carlos Simeon to come off the visitors’ bench as a substitute.

Brentwood had the better of the second half and went closest to scoring through Andy Freeman, who shot wide from close range, and Freddie Gard’s free kick that hit the top of a post.

After the late penalty converted by Joe Whight had put the home side ahead, Brentwood exerted some extreme pressure on the Felixstowe defence in extended stoppage time but could not force an equaliser.

Brentwood Town: 13 Ollie Bowles (Carlos Simeon 20'), 2 James Love, 3 Jake Gould, 4 Connor Hogan, 5 Matt Cripps, 16 Jack Humphrey, 7 Rob Harvey, 8 Freddie Gard, 19 Tom Richardson, 10 Andrew Freeman, 11 Jack Dickinson (Ashley Nzala 70')
