It’s derby day at The Arena!
This Saturday sees Brentwood Town face Billericay Town for the first time in nearly 10 years – and there’s plenty at stake at the Brentwood Centre Arena.
The Blues
Brentwood Town sit top of the Isthmian Premier Division, unbeaten in the league so far with six wins and a draw from seven games.
After a frustrating Emirates FA Cup exit at Royston last weekend, Keith Rowland's side will be fired up to bounce back and keep their strong league form rolling.
Ricay
Billericay Town arrive in a period of change with new boss Danny Scopes – formerly of Aveley – taking charge earlier this month. He’s joined by a familiar face to Brentwood fans, ex-manager Craig Shipman, who is now his assistant, plus Head of Recruitment Adam Drew and goalkeeping coach Danny Clare.
Ricay have made a mixed start to the season, winning just two of their opening seven games, but with a talented squad and a new manager bounce, they’ll be eager to make a statement.
They’ll be without striker Joe Taylor, who has rejoined Ramsgate, but one to watch is forward Liam Nash, who boasts EFL experience with Gillingham and even Europa Conference League minutes during his time abroad.
Final Word
An Essex derby on a Saturday afternoon, Brentwood flying high, Ricay hungry to turn their season around – this one has all the ingredients for a cracker.
Come down, get behind the boys, and let’s make The Arena bounce!
