MATCH PREVIEW: Dulwich Hamlet vs Brentwood Town

Club News | 26 Sep 2025

The League leaders Brentwood Town travel to fourth place Dulwich Hamlet in what promises to be an exciting Isthmian Premier clash. The Blues are still unbeaten in the league, but Hamlet will likely be their toughest test yet.

The Blues

Last weekend the Blues faced local rivals Billericay Town, and came out with the bragging rights, with a resounding 3-0 win. Club captain Matt Cripps opened the scoring just 15 minutes in, followed by Andy Freeman scoring his first goal in almost a year just before half-time with a tidy strike.

In a second-half sparse with chances, neither team were able to find the net until the 93rd minute, with Sam Park sealing the win following great tenacity, a great run into the box and a calm finish. It showed the ambition Brentwood have this season, going toe to toe already with some of the best teams in the division

The Hamlet

Dulwich have started well this season, only losing twice in the opening 8 games, sitting in 4th heading into this encounter, and only conceding 3 goals in the league. They faced a challenging game last weekend, a 1-1 draw away against a competitive Cheshunt side, who sit just below them in the league.

Both goals came in the second half, Sam Granville opening the scoring for the hosts 4 minutes after the half-time break, and the equaliser for Hamlet didn’t come until the 92nd minute, Nyren Clunis the scorer.

One to watch is Luke Wanadio who has already racked up an impressive 7 goals this season, 5 of these coming in the league. He’s joint second top scorer and will certainly be a challenge to keep quiet for the Blues defence.

Final word

This is Brentwood's hardest opponent so far, and being away from home, it will be a tough test. So far the Blues have come out on the winning side against some tough sides, and they’ll look to keep up this trend away at Champion Hill.
