Match Report:Dulwich Hamlet (A)

Club News | 28 Sep 2025

Brentwood Town claimed all three points at Champion Hill with their first victory over Dulwich Hamlet in the club’s history.

A first half strike courtesy of Danny Ogunleye and a second half own-goal continued The Blues’ unbeaten league campaign, whilst extended their lead at the top of the table to five points.

It was the hosts who took an early lead through Anthony Jeffery. The winger struck a long range strike which nestled into the bottom corner of goal.

Kymani Thomas looked to create an immediate impact as he was found on the break down the left flank and cut inside the defence before his shot was hit narrowly wide of the far post.

Dulwich came close to extending their lead when Sol Baugh dinked an attempt beyond Melvin Minter before the follow up from Amadou Kassarate was hit over the bar.

But The Blues found themselves level at the break with Louie Johnson laying the pass to Thomas, who advanced down the centre of the field and saw his effort denied by Toby Bull, before Danny Ogunleye was on hand to head home the rebound.

Brentwood opened the half strongly and created the majority of attacking chances. The first effort of the half fell to Thomas as he picked up a squared ball from Max Hudson, but knocked his effort short of the left post.

A flurry of chances in quick succession later fell to The Blues with Sam Park’s shot down the left forcing a save from Bull, before Thomas’ effort encountered a deflection and the strike of Johnson skimmed the top of the crossbar.

With 15 minutes remaining a well-deserved lead was capitalised by Brentwood. A curling cross into the box from Hudson was knocked into the net by Michael Chambers and was enough to differentiate the sides after a spell of attacking chances by The Blues.

Brentwood are back on the road next weekend as they travel to Woking to take on Westfield FC in the Third Qualifying Round of the FA Trophy.
