Brentwood Town 0-5 Leyton Orient (pre-season)
Saturday 5th July 2025

Brentwood Town kicked off their pre-season campaign as they welcomed League One Play-Off finalists Leyton Orient to The Arena on Saturday.

The Blues had an early chance inside the first minute as Sam Park squared the ball across field to Mekhi McKenzie, before his attempt was stopped by debutant keeper Killian Cahill.

Azeem Abdulai secured a first for the visitors as his tidy strike found the bottom right corner.

The O’s added another before half-time with their trialist on hand to net an in-swinging cross, delivered into the box by Makai Welch.

Both sides made changes as they emerged from the break. The Blues welcomed in their remaining summer reinforcements of Charlie Edwards (previously from Cray Wanderers), Charlee Hughes and Manny Ogunrinde (previously from Aveley).

The O’s emerged with a fully changed starting XI for the remaining 45 minutes.

Zach Hambury produced a third as he struck his effort past Melvin Minter and reached the net, before a half-volley attempt by Blues’ Benas Vaivada at the other end of the pitch, fell just wide of the right post.

The Blues continued on their attack with a long range effort by Hughes striking the other side of the woodwork.

A penalty was awarded for The O’s as Hayden Bullas was brought down in the box. Ollie O’Neill stepped up to take the shot but Minter was there to deny his spot-kick.

Diallang Jaiyesimi made it four from a curling attempt outside the area before Sonny Perkins cut inside from the right flank and conclude the scoring.

Brentwood continue their pre-season campaign with back-to-back home fixtures against National League South outfits Chelmsford City in midweek and Hornchurch on Saturday 12th July. Tickets can be purchased HERE.
