Tuesday 3rd September
FA CUP PRELIMINARY ROUND REPLAY
BRENTWOOD TOWN 2 - 1 HARLOW TOWN

After this replay win at the Arena on Tuesday, Brentwood Town will be away to Bowers & Pitsea this SATURDAY 7th September in the 1st Qualifying Round of the FA Cup.

Two first half goals by Jason Williams (penalty) and Jacob Wiggins saw Blues through this replay despite a very late goal by ten-man Harlow.

It was an eventful evening with a temporary floodlight failure causing a 19-minute delay in the first half. By then Brentwood had raced into a two-goal lead. In only the fifth minute Harlow defender and captain Oliver Gnandi conceded a penalty for handball and was also red-carded, Williams converting the spot-kick.

Wiggins made it 2-0 in the 18th minute with a perfectly executed shot over the head of visiting goalkeeper Josh Bexon.

Blues had plenty of chances to increase their lead in the first half, but Harlow stayed in the game and put the home defence under some pressure in the later stages. Christian Adu Gyamfi scored in the 90th minute to give the Blues fans an anxious five minutes of stoppage time

Brentwood Town: Brown, Pugsley (Dickinson 66), Toner, Baker, O’Rawe, Wiggins (Campbell 61), Anderson, Hogan, Williams (Stevenson 57), Milner, Freeman.
