BOSTIK NORTH DIVISION
BURY TOWN 2 – 1 BRENTWOOD TOW

Two second half goals from Bury Town’s Ollie Hughes saw Brentwood beaten in Bury St Edmunds on Saturday.

Both teams had some chances in the first half with Brentwood going close to an opening goal when Kojo Apenteng’s free kick was tipped over the crossbar by Luis Tibbles. The home side’s keeper made another good save to block Charlee Hughes effort at the far post.

The goals came early in the second half. Rob Budd saved well from Ollie Fenn before Ollie Hughes put Bury ahead in the 53rd minute, heading home from a Ryan Horne corner. It was Brentwood’s Hughes, Charlee, who equalised two minutes later when his shot took a big deflection and looped into the far corner of the goal. But Ollie Hughes restored the home side’s lead on the hour with a precise finish.

Budd made a tremendous save in the 81st minute, turning a shot from Tanner Call over the bar.

Brentwood are now in twelfth position in Bostik North with four games remaining in the season. Next fixture is away to Grays Athletic on Saturday, 13th April.
