CLUB STATEMENT ON COMMITTEE CHANGES

Club News | 21 May 2019

Brentwood Town Football Club have today announced some changes in the day-to-day running of the club. Chairman Brian Hallett has decided to stand down after 15 years as Director of Football and the last 10 years as Chairman. He has been at the Club for nearly 23 years and was the first youth team manager, bringing an Under-18s side to the Club in the Eastern Junior Alliance League, and then going on to be Youth Development Officer for all the youth teams until his appointment as Director of Football.

Brian will be succeeded as Chairman by Jez Dickinson who will be supported by David Park as Vice Chair, with Gary Waplington taking the role of Director of Football. Jez, Dave and Gary will not be new faces to Brentwood having been involved in running youth teams, and Gary has also been a committee member for several years.

On announcing his decision Brian said: "It is always difficult taking a back seat but the football club needs someone who can devote more time to it. I couldn't be happier that in Jez, Dave and Gary there are three people running the club who are Brentwood through and through."

Jez has said of his appointment: "Firstly I would like to say that it is a genuine honour to take over this challenge. Dave and I have had many years of happiness watching our boys come through the youth system and if we can make a difference over the next 5 to 10 years then we have put something back and carried on the legacy and effort left by Brian Hallett. I am delighted to be leading the club I love and have been involved with over many years. I know it’s going to be tough but then nothing worth doing is ever easy."

Brian will remain at the football club as part of the Trust and looking at development plans for the ground and facilities.
