The Blues will kick off their 2023/24 League season with a trip to familiar territory in Bury Town.

Last Time Out

Back in February 2023 The Blue’s made it seven games unbeaten with a Tuesday night 2-0 win on Suffolk soil.

The good run of form had seen three wins and four draws with just three goals conceded, and this latest result lifted Blues above Bury in the table and into the top half of the Isthmian North league.

Both teams had chances in an evenly balanced match before Solomon Ogunwomoju put Brentwood Town 1-0 up and Flavio Jumo was able to break away on his own in the 6th minute of injury time to outpaced the Bury defence and coolly rounded the goalkeeper to make it 2-0 .

Stadium

Since 1977 Bury Town Football Club have been playing at Ram Meadow on Cotton Lane in Bury St Edmunds. All four sides of the ground have covered areas for spectators, with 300 seats in two stands either side of the pitch and terracing behind both goals. It has a capacity of 3,500.

For satnav users, the postcode is IP33 1XP and you can park in the Ram Meadow public car park and the ground is at the far end of the car park, situated on the left-hand side. This is a payable car park.

Directions

Travelling by Train Bury St Edmonds train station operated by Greater Anglia and served from Shenfield via Ipswich Station. The station has two platforms, Platform 1 is served by trains from the West (Cambridge and Peterborough) and Platform 2 is served by trains from the East (Ipswich). The station is located close to Ram Meadow, a 15-minute walk, however there is a taxi rank and bus collection point in the car park at the Station

If you travel from the A14: Leave the A14 Junction 43, signposted to central Bury St Edmunds. Once clear of the exit roundabout, follow the signs to Town Centre. Take the first exit at the next roundabout (after 300 yards) into Northgate Street. At the second set of traffic lights (T - Junction), turn left into Mustow Street and first left into Cotton Lane, past the Hawkes garage and the Drive Car Showroom. Carry on down to the bottom of Cotton Lane and turn right in the council car park. The ground is at the far end of the car park, situated on the left hand.

If you travel from the A12: Pick up the A14 at the Toys ‘R’ Us turning and follow signs for Bury St Edmunds. Ignore the first turning off the dual carriageway with Sainsburys on your right. Leave the A14 Junction 43, signposted to central Bury St Edmunds. Once clear of the exit roundabout, follow the signs to Town Centre.
