Back on the road for the first time in 4 weeks saw Brentwood Town claim the 4th and final play-off place with a 1-0 victory in the picturesque setting of the Norfolk Broads.

Although leading at half time, the Yachtsman of Norfolk didn’t make it plain sailing for their Essex visitors and created a number of opportunities with the closet early on when a Harvey Peters powered above the Brentwood defence and headed onto the bar.

Minutes before Brentwood took the lead Ryan Miles cut in and saw his shoot sail over the crossbar.

As half-time was approaching a clever cross was put into the penalty area and Matt Cripps powered above his marker and headed into the far corner to the delight of the 40 odd Blues fans who’d made the 210 mile round trip in the early spring sunshine.

In the second half Brentwood proved why they have the league’s best defensive record and impressively kept their Norfolk hosts at bay and claimed their 12th clean sheet of the league season.

This away victory guarantees Brentwood’s play off place with a semi-final date on Tuesday 30th to look forward to although venue and opponents still to be confirmed. In the meantime, its back on the road again this Tuesday with another much shorter trip to Basildon United before Saturdays last home match of the season v Brightlingsea Regent.
