Brentwood Town Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of experienced centre-back Harry Gibbs, who joins the Blues on a 2-year contract, committing his future to the club until the summer of 2028.
The 28-year-old defender returns to the Brentwood Centre Arena following a highly successful spell with Hornchurch, where he played a key role in one of the most historic periods in the Urchins’ history.
Gibbs made 53 appearances during the 2025/26 campaign as Hornchurch secured promotion to the National League for the first time ever, winning the National League South Play-Offs. He was a cornerstone of the side throughout the season, adding to the 40 appearances he made during the 2024/25 campaign.
Harry is no stranger to Brentwood supporters. During his first spell with the Blues in the 2017/18 season, he made 47 appearances and scored four goals, quickly establishing himself as one of the most dependable defenders in the division.
Since leaving Brentwood, Gibbs has built an impressive non-league career across Essex, enjoying multiple successful spells with both Aveley and Hornchurch. Having first joined Aveley in 2016, he went on to make well over 100 appearances for the Millers and played a major role in their rise through the divisions, including successive promotions to the National League South and also lifting the Velocity Cup. A former club captain at Parkside, Gibbs earned a reputation as a leader both on and off the pitch.
Speaking after signing his contract, Gibbs said:
“[I’m] Happy to have signed for Brentwood again. After working with the manager before and knowing a fair few of the lads, it felt like a good opportunity to push forward with the club. [I] Can’t wait to get going and see what we can do this season.”
Everyone at Brentwood Town would like to welcome Harry back to the club and we look forward to seeing him in blue once again.
