Adam Flanagan’s return to Brentwood Town saw Blues beaten by a late goal in Cambridgeshire on Saturday.

Brentwood’s line-up included new signing Adam Topley in midfield while there was a debut in defence for another recent acquisition, Pat Ahern.

Both sides to create many chances in the opening stages until Soham took a 25th minute lead when Charlie Johnson headed in from a free kick. Sam Mulready missed a good chance to put the home side further ahead ten minutes into the second half, but Brentwood equalised when Andrew Freeman scored with a header from Robbie Rees’s free kick in the 76th minute.

Mulready then won the game for the hosts with a good finish in the 81st minute.
