BRENTWOOD TOWN 2 - 3 BASILDON UNITED

Basildon took the points from this Essex derby despite conceding an early goal when Matt Price converted from the penalty spot in the 9th minute after he had been brought down in the area.

The pacey Basildon attack caused the home defence problems, but Clyde Semazzi wasted a good opportunity for the Bees when he shot over the bar from a good position At the other end George Marsh saved twice in quick succession from Price and Sam Deering, just before the visitors were level through a penalty scored by Kai Brown.

Samir Ali’s fine finish put the Bees ahead before half time and they looked well worth their lead with Brown making it 3-1 in the 61st minute.

Blues pressed hard in the later stages and pulled a goal back with a spectacular shot from substitute Kingdom Dawson that went in off the underside of the bar. Blues introduced new signing Manuchim Oke-William and he went close to an equaliser three minutesfrom time.
